On July 2, the Sniping Federation of Kyrgyzstan for the first time held long-distance competitions at the training ground of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic "Edelweiss" in Balykchy.  The competition consisted of 8 exercises with distances from 300 to 1480 meters.  Among 37 shooters, one set of medals and certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places with a prize fund of 70 thousand soms was played.

“Competitions with such long distances are held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time, it is especially pleasing that the shooter with a rifle of domestic production “Ilbirs” became the winner,” said Aidar Okenov, Chairman of the Board of the Sniping Federation.

A feature of these competitions  were exercises for ultra-long distances from 1000 to 1480 meters in gusty winds reaching 10 meters per second, which complicated the calculation of ballistic corrections.

The tournament was registered with the International T-Class Confederation and the results of the match were broadcast online.  Vladimir Nazarov, referee of the Kyrgyz Sniping Federation, acted as the chief referee of the match.

According to the results of the last tournament out of 8 exercises in the category of long distances, the first place was taken by Evgeny Vitkhen with the “Ilbirs” rifle in caliber 6.5 Creedmoor.  The “silver” winner of the competition was Aidar Okenov with a Blaser R8 rifle in caliber 338 Lapua Magnum, and the “bronze” one went to Andrey Shestakov with a Bergara B14 rifle in 6.5x55 caliber.

In the "Duel" competition, the representative of the "Boru" special forces of the State Committee for National Security Border Service became the winner.

The Sniping Federation of Kyrgyzstan was formed in June 2021 at the initiative of enthusiastic shooters. The founders of the federation intend to popularize high-precision shooting in Kyrgyzstan, form a culture of safe handling of long-barreled firearms, and promote a healthy lifestyle, patriotism and respect for nature.
